The Uniting Church in Australia was formed in 1977, with the amalgamation of the Presbyterian, Methodist and Congregational Churches.
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Disaster Recovery Chaplain to join the Uniting Church in Australia, Synod of WA in partnership with Council of Churches WA (CCWA) and in particular the WA disaster recovery chaplaincy network.
The role is reporting to the Management Committee comprising of CCWA and Uniting Church WA representatives and will be working closely with disaster affected communities and individuals across Western Australia.
This is a Twelve (12) Month Maximum-Term, Part-time (0.2 FTE) opportunity, with the possibility of extension. The required working day will be Thursdays and will be located in Gidgegannup.
This role will be involved in the following areas (among others):
The successful candidate will have a proven ability to work independently, strong communication skills and effective pastoral skills including mediation and conflict resolution.
They must have knowledge of and experience with providing outreach and support to disasters affected communities.
