About Us

The Water Well Project is a not-for-profit health promotion organisation based in Melbourne. Our mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of migrants, refugees and asylum seekers by improving health literacy. Our vision is that all individuals from refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds achieve equitable access to healthcare to enable them to live full lives and contribute to the wider community.

We are a values-driven organisation that works collaboratively with a common purpose we are searching for a Website Support Officer to join our team at a Volunteering capacity.

The Website Support Officer plays a key role in The Water Well Project’s Digital team. The role is responsible for supporting the Digital officer in maintaining the website and assisting with other related digital tasks for The Water Well project. Specifically, this role will help with the planned re-design of the website to a more streamlined and user-friendly version as The Water Well project continues to grow as a national organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Working alongside the Digital Officer to:

  • Liaise with the communications & social media team to plan and execute the re-design of the website
  • Maintain the website with up-to-date information including blog posts, Volunteer of the Month updates, events pages and member resources
  • Troubleshooting and solving website-related queries for users and committee members
  • Collating website statistics for project evaluation
  • Producing electronic reports as required by the Management Committee

Key Selection Criteria

  • Prior experience with website design and management is preferable, particularly using Wordpress.
  • Strong foundation and competency in Information Technology is also preferred.
  • Excellent organisational, prioritisation and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to use own initiative to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with a skilled base of volunteers.

Term of office and time commitment

  • Candidates should ideally be able to commit to a minimum of 12 months, subject to a probation period.
  • Time commitment varies week on week but is expected to average between 2-4 hours per week.
  • Communication must be maintained with the committee on a regular basis, within a timely manner.
