Our client SAGE Community Services is seeking multiple experienced and collaborative Case Managers to join a new Families Together team and support high-quality, client-centred service delivery across Western Sydney.

About the Opportunity…

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced community services case manager to join their team in a pivotal child protection role. Reporting to the Team Leader, these roles will provide casework support to a case load, including children at risk of significant harm from 0-17 years.

The role oversees primary case management, assessment, referrals, compliance, intake, case work, safety and risk management in a client facing child protection environment. You’ll also contribute to organisational growth, sustainability, and networking with internal and external stakeholders.

  • There are 5 vacancies being advertised
  • Full Time (35hpw) or Part Time (21hpw) hours
  • SCHADS Award Level 5 (dependant on experience)
  • Based in Wentworthville however regular travel for home visits required and for other work across the district as needed

What you’ll need to succeed…

This role will suit an experienced and collaborative community services case manager with child protection, and problem-solving skills, ideally within complex DCJ-funded family support or domestic and family violence programs. The successful candidate will bring a genuine commitment to trauma-informed, culturally safe and inclusive practice, along with a passion for supporting children, families and communities across Western Sydney.

Selection Criteria…

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Social Sciences or a related human services field
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience delivering casework or direct support services to children and families experiencing complex needs
  • Demonstrated experience working with families affected by trauma, domestic and family violence, child protection concerns, mental health issues, parental drug and alcohol misuse and social disadvantage
  • Demonstrated ability to assess and respond to risk and child safety concerns, including mandatory reporting obligations
  • A genuine understanding of child protection principles, risk assessment and safety planning, and what it means to keep children at the centre
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a culturally safe and responsive way, including with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, CALD and LGBTQIA+ families
  • Sound knowledge of child protection legislation, mandatory reporting obligations and information-sharing requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to build genuine, trust-based relationships with families and colleagues
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage a caseload, meet deadlines and maintain accurate records
  • Competence in using online case management systems and data reporting tools.
  • Ability to work both independently and as an effective team member
  • A genuine commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality and ongoing professional development.
  • Current NSW or National Driver’s Licence
  • Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • Criminal record history check (this is a child-related position)
  • Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency
