About 12 Buckets

12 Buckets is a Perth-based charity that strives to equip primary students in need of mentoring with the skills, support and connections to build a strong future. The 12 Buckets One-to-One Mentoring program is its stand-out success. Tailored one-to-one mentoring is the core element for helping primary aged children to build resilience and work towards a brighter future. 12 Buckets is a self-funded Perth-based charity that was founded in 2010. We receive no Government funding, but rely on community and business support.

About the Role

This is a new role within the organisation. The Operations Manager will be accountable to the Chief Executive Officer for the day to day management and development of the 12 Buckets, Big Buckets and Future Leaders Programs for primary and high school students. We are looking for someone who exemplifies the 12 Buckets qualities of Leadership; Organisation; Initiative; Compassion; Curiosity; Resilience and Friendliness.

The 12 Buckets mentoring program is based on The Circle of Courage that focuses on 12 areas of wellbeing. Our School Liaisons co-ordinate the program at 4 primary schools: Balga, North Balga, Koondoola and Boyare.

The Operations Manager will be responsible for:

  • Managing the Operations Team of School Liaisons and Big Buckets Co-ordinator
  • Maintaining strong relationships with partner schools
  • Recruiting volunteer mentors
  • Administration duties as required
  • Organising special events such as mentor development nights and staff development days
  • Create and lead program development
  • Managing reporting and program evaluation

About You

To be considered for this role, you will need to have experience of:

  • Working with children and young people in the education or community services sector
  • Leading multi-disciplinary teams
  • Managing staff and volunteers
  • Developing youth programs or services
  • Planning and organising events

You will be skilled at:

  • Program development
  • Planning and budgeting
  • Researching
  • Reporting and communication
  • Relationship management

Key Employment Information

  • Position requires 21 hours a week (Tuesday to Thursday), with the expectation of attending occasional evening events
  • Office based in the northern suburbs
