The Salvation Army Australia is seeking to appoint a Schools Engagement Coordinator (0.5FTE) to join The Salvation Army's Victorian Schools Engagement Team. In this position, you will be required to deliver a range of workshops and resources to schools regarding social justice and the work of The Salvation Army. In addition to facilitating workshops for young people, you will have the opportunity to assist with content development and influence social justice education programs. The role demands some administrative function, including maintaining the school bookings register. This position predominately operates from the 'Salvos Schools' CBD Classroom, where the Schools Engagement Team frequently delivers the popular 'Youth Homelessness City Tour' program.
The successful applicant will be a confident and passionate social justice advocate with exceptional youth facilitation skills. They will naturally build rapport and maintain meaningful relationships with schools and other stakeholders. They will possess tertiary qualifications (or be undertaking studies) in education, youth work, community development and/or other related fields. They will work in accordance with The Salvation Army ethos. Specifically, the incumbent must be able to demonstrate the following:
