The Salvation Army are looking for an experienced Finance Clerk to join our team at Macquarie Fields. 18 hours per week and great team environment.

We are looking for an experienced Finance Clerk to join our team. In this position, you will play a pivotal role in providing financial and accounting support to the centre.

Your main duties will include:

Financial Services

  • Processing payments and income
  • Preparation and review of financial reports
  • Formulation of budgets in consultation with Mission Leaders and Head Office

Financial Services

  • Auditing in cooperation with Head Office Financial Services
  • Reconciliations (petty cash, bank account, credit cards etc)
  • End of financial year exercises (schedules, journals, analytical review and acquittals)
  • Preparation of monies for banking and assistance with delivery to bank for deposit.
  • Preparation and submission of timesheets to payroll

Financial Guidance

  • Provision of quality advice and guidance (in consultation with Head Office Financial
  • Services) to Mission Leaders on key financial management issues impacting the Centre in achieving the TSA Mission.

Relief Reception

  • Relief reception duties as required due to staff/volunteer absences
  • Greet and direct visitors and clients
  • Answer reception telephone and take messages

We currently use Finance One, so you will be required to have good IT skills and computer literacy along with the following:

  • An appreciation of and the ability and willingness to promote and support the values and ethos of The Salvation Army.
  • Minimum Certificate IV in Accounting or Bookkeeping, OR Minimum 12 months experience in a similar role.
  • WHS - knowledge of work health safety obligations and to practice these in the workplace in line with TSA policy & procedures and legislation.
  • Professional development required to maintain skills for the role.
  • Current Driver's license
  • Commitment to working within a team environment
  • Solid written and verbal English communication skills
  • High level of interpersonal skills
  • High level of confidentiality regarding financial information
  • Effective planning and organisational skills, ability to meet deadlines
  • Energetic and flexible with a positive attitude
