Mobility Assistant - Melbourne Airport Assist

Help make every journey a little easier. Travellers Aid is expanding our Melbourne Airport Assist service, and we're looking for friendly, adaptable Mobility Assistants to join our team at Melbourne Airport and support travellers when they need it most.

Please note flexibility is required to work shifts between 3:00am and 1:00am, including early mornings, nights, weekends and public holidays. To support our service delivery, candidates must be available for a minimum.

What will you be doing?

No two shifts are exactly the same, but you can expect to:

  • As part of the Melbourne Airport Assist team, you'll help travellers with mobility and accessibility needs navigate the airport with confidence and independence to move between car parks, check-in areas, baggage halls, and passenger pick up and drop off zones.
  • Safely transport passengers using airport buggies and powered wheelchairs
  • Spot opportunities to assist passengers who may benefit from additional support
  • Build positive connections with travellers and help make their airport experience less stressful and more enjoyable
  • Work closely with airport staff and service partners to ensure a smooth and coordinated experience
  • Promote Travellers Aid services so more people can access the support available to them

About you

You'll be someone who:

  • Has experience delivering great customer service
  • Holds a current driver's licence
  • Enjoys meeting and helping people from diverse backgrounds
  • Communicates confidently and respectfully
  • Remains calm and professional when things get busy
  • Can work independently and adapt to changing situations
  • Is physically capable of standing and walking for extended periods and assisting with luggage when required
  • Brings empathy, patience and a genuine desire to help others
