Travancore School is seeking expressions of interest from Casual Relief Teachers interested in flexible casual work within our Banksia classroom program, based at the Royal Children’s Hospital Mental Health inpatient unit.

The Banksia classroom provides a calm, inclusive and student-centred learning environment for students during their admission. The program focuses on engagement, routine, connection and supporting students to maintain links with learning.

Casual Relief Teachers are responsible for leading classroom sessions, supporting student engagement, adapting learning activities to meet individual needs, and maintaining a safe and supportive classroom environment. Teachers work as part of a small education team and in partnership with clinical staff to support students during their admission.

This role may suit a teacher looking for:

We are looking for teachers who are calm, adaptable, relational and confident leading learning in a flexible classroom setting. Experience in specialist education, wellbeing, mental health or flexible learning settings is valued, but not essential.

Induction and support will be provided by the Banksia team.
