Tradewind Australia is partnering with a highly respected specialist community services organisation to recruit an experienced and proactive People & Culture Advisor for an initial 6-month contract opportunity.

This is an excellent opportunity for a HR professional who enjoys working across the full employee lifecycle within a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment. You'll join a collaborative and supportive People & Culture team, reporting directly to the Head of P&C, while playing a key role in supporting managers and staff across a complex SCHADS-funded organisation.

About the Role

As the People & Culture Advisor, you will provide broad generalist HR support across recruitment, onboarding, payroll coordination, employee lifecycle administration, HR systems and policy interpretation.

Working closely with leaders and internal stakeholders, you'll help ensure employees are supported through compliant, efficient and people-focused HR practices. This role will suit someone who has strong working knowledge of SCHADS, Enterprise Agreements and employment conditions, along with a proactive and solutions-focused mindset.

The organisation offers a flexible hybrid arrangement following an initial onboarding period, with a strong emphasis on collaboration, communication and team culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret SCHADS Award, Enterprise Agreements and employment entitlements
  • Interpret SCHADS Award, Enterprise Agreements and employment entitlements
  • Provide day-to-day HR and People & Culture support to managers and employees
  • Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, contracts, inductions and employee lifecycle administration
  • Support payroll processes, timesheet management and employment changes
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data within ELMO
  • Respond to P&C enquiries and proactively investigate solutions
  • Assist with policy interpretation, compliance and HR reporting
  • Coordinate training, onboarding and compliance activities
  • Support workplace health, safety and wellbeing initiatives

What You'll Bring

Essential

  • Tertiary Quals in HR or related + experience in a HR or People & Culture Advisor role | 4-5 years ideally
  • Strong understanding of SCHADS Award interpretation and employment conditions
  • Experience working with Enterprise Agreements and employee entitlements
  • Understanding of payroll processes and workforce administration
  • Ability to work independently and confidently manage competing priorities
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable learning and navigating HR systems and processes

Desirable

  • Previous experience within community services, NFP or social services environments
  • Experience using ELMO HRIS
  • Understanding of WorkCover, OHS and compliance processes
