ABOUT THE ROLE:

To be successful in this role, you will be skilled at developing and maintaining collaborative and productive relationships with a range of stakeholders to assist in the management of industrial issues and progress the Association’s objectives.

Applicants should have a good working knowledge of employment law and communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate outcomes.

THE DUTIES OF THE POSITION INCLUDE:

  • Providing advice and information to members on employment entitlements, workers compensation, discrimination issues, individual employment grievances and occupational health and safety;
  • Assisting Industrial Officers in preparation and presentation of cases before various tribunals;
  • Assisting development and implementation of policy, particularly on industrial relations issues;
  • Conducting research on industrial matters;
  • Contribution to the development and conduct of campaigns including through participating in meetings with members and engagement with delegates including some evening and weekend commitments;
  • Some intra/interstate travel as required.

Tertiary qualifications in industrial relations or other relevant fields would be an advantage. A strong commitment to trade union principles is essential.

All employment conditions are in accordance with the TPAV Enterprise Agreement 2020.
