We're looking for an experienced Studio Experience Manager to join us and run our Melbourne studio like a well-oiled ship.

We are mostly based in ngar-go (Fitzroy, Melbourne) and we welcome applications from all lands and backgrounds. We are Australia’s most awarded social impact agency.

We use design and technology to make change happen, at pace and at scale. In the last 12 months, we’ve designed and built Australia’s first online family violence intervention order, established a new approach to co-design for the Victorian mental health sector, built a peer-to-peer product that helps people learn Auslan, and launched a campaign to shift mainstream perceptions of climate change—plus many more.

Our practice is built on strong foundations of human-centred design and digital making. There are 50 of us (soon to be 60), based mostly in Naarm (Melbourne), working across strategy, research, design, content, delivery and a wonderful support team.

About the role

You'll deliver exceptional experiences for our clients and team. With support from our Head of Operations, you'll develop and maintain studio processes and systems to keep our beautiful studio humming. You will have experience in an office or hospitality management role, you love operating independently, can solve problems on the go and possess great communication and facilitation skills.

Key accountabilities

  • Client experience: From warmly welcoming visitors, setting up and catering for meetings and ensuring our space is always beautiful and safe - you'll deliver exceptional experiences for our clients and team.
  • Studio management: Managing our studio space (including design and maintenance), our building operations (including security and utilities), and providing an exceptional experience that’s true to our brand, for our clients and teams.
  • Supplier management: Managing existing relationships and assessing the quality of service, and acquiring new relationships (that align with our business purpose).
  • Operations coordination: Maintaining an inventory of all assets and tools used by our studio, ensuring cost efficiencies with use. You'll manage these assets and tools fully, including inductions for new staff, supporting staff with troubleshooting, and facilitating information sessions for new assets and tools.

Person requirements

  • Either extensive hospitality, office or hotel management experience
  • Experience with Google or Microsoft Office Suite and communication applications such as Slack and Zoom
  • Possess a strong service mindset
  • Be meticulous in all aspects of your work
  • Possess excellent problem-solving skills
  • Be creative and enjoy working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Have a vibrant, friendly manner and be cool under pressure
