As a KIC – Knowledge Innovation Community – they are a catalyst for systemic change through deep global networks, knowledge sharing and breakthrough innovation, to build a thriving and resilient future for Australia.

After four years in operation, Climate-KIC Australia has built a solid foundation and is poised for significant growth. This effective, nimble organisation has delivered climate innovation activities across sectors and scales; and is on its way to making a large impact. The current focus is to grow the number of partners in the KIC and expand the portfolio of activities across impact areas, in a national collaboration to tackle climate change at scale.

The role

As a Member of the Governing Board of Climate-KIC Australia (Fundraising) you will contribute by:

  • Helping shape the board agenda to ensure that Climate-KIC Australia’s strategy has an appropriate focus on fundraising and the philanthropic sector
  • Helping to identify opportunities where board members can support fundraising activities;
  • Participating in board discussions regarding performance, finances, affairs, opportunities and challenges of the organisation;
  • Contributing to open and constructive communications amongst board members and board deliberations;
  • Contributing to board, committee, board member and CEO evaluation reviews and succession planning;

About you

The Climate-KIC Australia Board member (fundraising) is a talented individual with strong intellectual and leadership capacity who has extensive networks and experience in the philanthropic sector, particularly the climate philanthropy sector. You also have:

  • The capability to make introductions on behalf of Climate-KIC Australia to the philanthropic sector;
  • Experience in developing philanthropic funding strategies;
  • Bandwidth to make Climate-KIC a key priority;
  • Good public and private speaking, and listening skills
