The Participation Coordinator role provides support to residents of Kiwirrkurra Community to obtain employment and engage with Government and mainstream services. This includes case management appointments, acting as the Services Australia agent and supporting engagements with government / mainstream services.
For those with significant experience, there is a range of additional responsibilities which would increase the seniority of the position.
The Community Services and Participation team covers different activities including Remote Australia Employment Services, Services Australia Agent and Access Point, Municipal Services, several social enterprises and support for internal community governance and advocacy.
PWT translates as ‘Pintupi Working Together’ and focuses on providing opportunities for Kiwirrkurra People and residents. PWT is a quickly growing and evolving organisation supporting the self determination of Kiwirrkurra People, based on-country in Kiwirrkurra Community, one of Australia’s most remote Aboriginal communities. PWT and its two corporate Members (Kiwirrkurra Council AC and Tjamu Tjamu AC) have broad responsibilities within Kiwirrkurra Community and surrounds. These include Ranger Programs, Cultural Heritage, Land interests (Native Title / Aboriginal Reserves), Community Services and Participation (including employment services municipal services and various commercial activities run as social enterprises) and other advocacy and economic development initiatives.
