About the Role

The Participation Coordinator role provides support to residents of Kiwirrkurra Community to obtain employment and engage with Government and mainstream services. This includes case management appointments, acting as the Services Australia agent and supporting engagements with government / mainstream services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support RAES participants into employment through case management appointments and activities.
  • Support residents to navigate Government and mainstream services and systems, including as Service Australia Agent.
  • Maintain accurate records and complementary administrative tasks
  • Build strong relationships with community members, Elders, and local stakeholders
  • Maintain a safe working environment and complete other reasonable duties as required

For those with significant experience, there is a range of additional responsibilities which would increase the seniority of the position.

About the team

The Community Services and Participation team covers different activities including Remote Australia Employment Services, Services Australia Agent and Access Point, Municipal Services, several social enterprises and support for internal community governance and advocacy.

About the Organisation – Pintupi Waarrkaarinyi Tjungu (PWT)

PWT translates as ‘Pintupi Working Together’ and focuses on providing opportunities for Kiwirrkurra People and residents. PWT is a quickly growing and evolving organisation supporting the self determination of Kiwirrkurra People, based on-country in Kiwirrkurra Community, one of Australia’s most remote Aboriginal communities. PWT and its two corporate Members (Kiwirrkurra Council AC and Tjamu Tjamu AC) have broad responsibilities within Kiwirrkurra Community and surrounds. These include Ranger Programs, Cultural Heritage, Land interests (Native Title / Aboriginal Reserves), Community Services and Participation (including employment services municipal services and various commercial activities run as social enterprises) and other advocacy and economic development initiatives.

Working with PWT offers an experience of the world different to mainstream environments through being in the beautiful, vibrant, living desert and providing a meaningful opportunity to support and work with Kiwirrkurra People to pursue self-determination and their version of a good life.

About You

You will thrive in this role if you are patient, organised, and passionate about supporting people in remote communities. We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in community services, administration, or case management, ideally with
  • Confident using computers, online portals, and phone‑based service systems
  • A strong communicator who can explain processes clearly and respectfully
  • Culturally aware and committed to working in partnership with Indigenous communities
  • Reliable, organised, and able to work independently
  • Adaptable and comfortable working in a remote environment
