Threatened Species Conservancy

The Threatened Species Conservancy is a not-for-profit organisation run by highly skilled scientists and communications professionals who share a mission to save Australia’s flora and fauna from extinction. We are the only not-for-profit organisation in Australia solely dedicated to taking a National approach to the recovery of threatened species. We work across both public and private land and with a diverse range of stakeholders including state and local governments, zoos, herbaria, scientists, the broader community and the not-for-profit sector.

Role Description

The Threatened Species Conservancy is seeking a qualified and experienced professional Fundraiser to join our vibrant Board. The suitable candidate will have a background in professional philanthropy and/or fundraising.

Roles and Responsibilities

All Board members are required to promote the Threatened Species Conservancy across their professional networks and help us build stronger partnerships with prospective donors.

Key responsibilities may include:

  • sourcing and securing corporate, philanthropic and government funding;
  • building and managing positive and enduring relationships with the philanthropic community;
  • fostering the development of long term strategies around fundraising and brand;
  • monitoring performance against key strategic performance indicators on strategy and plans; and
  • investigating the feasibility of electronic donation portals and manage implementation if suitable.

Annual Organisational Budget: $100,000-$1,300,000
Number of Paid Staff: 1 – 2

Board Meetings (frequency): monthly
Board Meetings Held: During Day (negotiable)
Board Meetings (Mode): Online
Time Commitment: 7 hours per month (minimum)
Payment: Nil – honorary role but appropriate expenses will be covered.
