At Thorne Harbour Health, we are a community-controlled organisation dedicated to improving the health, social and emotional wellbeing of LGBTQIA+ communities and people living with or affected by HIV.

We're seeking an experienced Specialist Family Violence Practitioner/Case Manager to join our Therapeutic Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to provide specialist, affirming family violence case management and support to LGBTQIA+ victim-survivors within a values-driven organisation committed to reducing stigma, discrimination and inequality.

About the role

Working within our Family Violence Services team, you'll provide trauma-informed, client-centred case management and recovery support to LGBTQIA+ people experiencing family violence. You'll undertake comprehensive family violence risk assessments, develop safety plans, coordinate referrals, advocate for clients, and work collaboratively with internal and external services to deliver holistic, culturally safe support.

This role also contributes to strengthening best practice responses to family and sexual violence experienced by LGBTQIA+ communities.

About You

You are a compassionate and experienced practitioner who is committed to delivering inclusive, evidence-informed support. You'll also bring:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or a related discipline, with eligibility for professional registration or membership.
  • Demonstrated experience providing specialist family violence case management.
  • Strong knowledge of the MARAM Framework, Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme (FVISS) and Child Information Sharing Scheme (CISS).
  • Experience conducting comprehensive family violence risk assessments and safety planning.
  • Excellent communication, documentation and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A genuine commitment to working alongside LGBTQIA+ communities and people living with or affected by HIV.

Experience supporting people who use violence or Family Safety Advocacy experience will be highly regarded.
