Thorne Harbour Health is a community-controlled LGBTQI+ health organisation with over 35 years of leadership in HIV, mental health, and community wellbeing. We now deliver a broad range of services across Victoria and South Australia, working to ensure our communities can live healthy, safe, and connected lives.

We are seeking an experienced and values-driven Manager, Therapeutic Services to lead our Mental Health and Alcohol & Other Drug (AOD) programs in South Australia. Based in the Adelaide CBD, this pivotal role provides strategic, clinical, and operational leadership to a multidisciplinary team delivering specialist services to LGBTQI+ communities and people living with or affected by HIV.

About the role

In this senior leadership position, you will oversee the delivery, growth, and quality of our Therapeutic Services programs, ensuring they are culturally safe, inclusive, evidence-based, and responsive to community needs. Collaborating closely with Team Leaders and clinicians, you will guide service development, clinical governance, performance management, and stakeholder partnerships across the sector.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing Team Leaders and clinical staff
  • Providing clinical supervision and maintaining high-quality practice standards
  • Driving service development, strategy, change initiatives, and program growth.
  • Overseeing program budgets, reporting, compliance, and accreditation processes
  • Strengthening sector partnerships, care pathways, and community engagement
  • Contributing to organisational leadership, policy development, and quality systems.

What’s on offer

In addition to your salary of SCHADS Level 7 (pro-rata), leave loading and superannuation, Thorne Harbour also pays above award. You will also receive17.5% leave loading and an ability to increase your take-home pay by accessing up to $15,900 in salary packaging benefits.

About you

You are an experienced leader with a strong background in therapeutic service delivery and a commitment to improving health outcomes for LGBTQI+ communities and people living with or affected by HIV. You bring expertise in clinical supervision, program management, and community-inclusive practice, along with the ability to build cohesive teams and collaborative external partnerships.

You will also bring:

  • A tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, counselling, or related field.
  • Eligibility for membership with AASW, AHPRA, APS, or similar.
  • Demonstrated leadership of therapeutic programs and clinical teams.
  • Experience in mental health, AOD, HIV-related or LGBTQI+ inclusive practice.
  • Strong knowledge of health service management, governance, and quality systems.
  • Capacity to meet reporting, compliance, and strategic objectives.
  • A South Australian Driver’s Licence.
