The Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme is a flagship Australian Government initiative supporting workers from 9 Pacific Island Countries and Timor-Leste to work in Australia. The Pacific Labour Mobility Support Program (PLMSP) provides support to DFAT and partner governments to strengthen labour mobility outcomes. The program focuses on inclusive access, economic benefits, and risk mitigation, while delivering capacity building, research, and support services.
The Economic Research Officer supports the implementation of the PLMSP economic research program. The role contributes to analysis of labour mobility impacts, including remittances and labour market effects. It involves working with research teams and stakeholders to deliver data-driven insights. The position offers exposure to applied economic research in an international development context within a collaborative team environment.
