Evaluations Coordinator

The Man Cave

This job has your name on it if...

You're the kind of person who genuinely believes that good data, in the right hands, can change lives. You don't just collect evidence, you bring it to life. You can turn a dataset into a story, a story into a recommendation, and a recommendation into real change. You care deeply about doing this work with rigour and integrity, and you get genuine satisfaction when research actually lands with the people who need it most.

What you'll be doing

You'll be the engine behind how The Man Cave measures, understands and communicates its impact. Reporting to the Head of Impact and Technology, you'll work across programs, teams and external partners to make sure our evaluation is ethical, robust and genuinely useful. Your day could move from chasing down a paper eval from a school program in the morning to pulling together an impact report for a major funder in the afternoon. That full range is the job, and the right person will find that variety energising. That means:

  • Implementing and continuously improving TMC's evaluation frameworks, tools and reporting processes across all programs
  • Coordinating data collection and analysis across both quantitative and qualitative sources, whether that's a paper form from a school workshop or a digital survey platform
  • Delivering timely, high quality impact reports to schools, funders and internal stakeholders
  • Translating evaluation findings into practical insights that improve program design and delivery
  • Monitoring emerging research in masculinities, youth mental health, prevention and wellbeing and making sure it informs our work
  • Contributing to TMC's annual reports including the Annual Impact Report, Boyhood Report and School Sentiment Report
  • Processing paper based evaluations when required (most are submitted online)
  • Leading the translation of evaluation insights into accessible content: dashboards, case studies, social media, whitepapers and more
  • Chairing weekly product quality review meetings and keeping the right people informed
  • Maintaining secure, ethical and well-governed data systems

You're probably someone who...

  • Has a relevant background in research, evaluation, psychology, social science, data analytics or a related field and experience in Qualtrics
  • Is as comfortable with qualitative data as they are with quantitative, and knows how to make both tell a compelling story
  • Writes clearly and credibly for different audiences, from a school principal to a funder to a CEO
  • Takes data governance and research ethics seriously, not as a box to tick but as a genuine responsibility
  • Is curious, self-directed and thrives working autonomously without needing constant direction
  • Genuinely cares about the safety and wellbeing of young people and brings that to everything they do
  • Connects with the mission of supporting young men to thrive and wants their work to contribute to that

What we're looking for

Someone who brings analytical rigour and genuine warmth in equal measure. You understand that behind every data point is a young person, a facilitator, or a school trying to do better. You take that seriously. You're organised enough to manage competing deadlines across multiple programs, curious enough to keep learning, and clear enough in your communication that your insights actually get used.

What success looks like

In six months, TMC’s evaluation frameworks will be updated and embedded consistently across TMC programs, data will be landing on time and with integrity, and the teams around you will be actively using your insights to improve their work. You won't just be reporting on impact. You'll be shaping it.

Who you'll be working with

You'll be part of a small but mighty team who show up every day because this work genuinely matters. You'll work closely with the Head of Impact and Technology and Research Coordinator, the Product, Relationships and Digital teams, and external research and academic partners. You'll have real visibility across the organisation and a genuine seat at the table when it comes to how TMC understands and communicates its impact.

We are a business, a charity and a community all in one. We are deeply committed to our values, our humanity first culture, and connection with each other. This is a role where you will be included in town halls, team experiences, connection days, strategic planning, community events and embraced for your individual life skills, experiences, talents and vision for the world.

Why The Man Cave

The Man Cave is Australia’s leading preventative mental health charity for teenage boys and young men. We work with young men at critical moments in their lives. The work is real, the team is tight, and what happens in our programs actually matters. You'll be joining something purposeful and you'll feel that from day one.
