The Full Circle Movement is a boutique provider of trauma-informed, holistic, and strengths-based NDIS support, coaching, and skills development mentoring. Our services are grounded in empathy, equality, and empowerment with a strong focus on building relationships.

We are seeking passionate Support Workers to join our team.

Our business specialises in supporting neurodivergent individuals, including those who are autistic and/or living with ADHD and mental health challenges.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

As a Support Worker/Mentor, you will be responsible for providing our clients in-home support with daily activities or support to access the community. You may also work with our team to develop and run programs that meet the needs of our clients.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, household tasks, and life administration
  • Implementing individualised support plans, strategies, and steps towards the individual’s goals while maintaining awareness of the client’s fluctuating capacities.
  • Supporting with mobility or manual transfers within the scope of your confirmed training.
  • Promoting independence and social inclusion by encouraging client participation in community activities and events.
  • Assisting with medication management and administration if required, within the scope of your confirmed training.
  • Maintaining thorough and accurate documentation such as client notes and reporting incidents, progress, or concerns.
  • Attending all training sessions and meetings to enhance knowledge and skills related to supporting individuals with disabilities.
  • Encouraging and supporting participants' development of personal skills through individual hobbies and interests.
  • Providing "respite" for families and informal carers to ensure informal networks are supported.

Our Ideal Candidate:

Our ideal candidate will have experience supporting neurodivergent individuals, particularly children, and will be trauma-informed and responsive. We are a strengths-based organisation, and our services are self-determined, so experience with self-directed support is highly regarded.

Essential skills include:

  • Passion for helping participants and embracing diversity.
  • Excellent communication skills, active listening, and patience.
  • Ability to build positive, appropriate, and engaging relationships with participants and their families.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and flexibility.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Professionalism in all interactions and maintaining confidentiality.

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting neurodivergence.
  • Experience working with children.
  • Full driver’s license and willingness to travel and transport clients using own vehicle.
  • Working with Children clearance.
  • First Aid certification.
  • National Police Check.
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module completion.
  • Availability to work before school/after school hours.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience (not essential):

  • Certificate III in Individual Support and/or Certificate IV in Disability (or equivalent).
  • NDIS Infection control training, NDIS Food Handling training, NDIS Zero Tolerance training.
  • Psychology or Social Work, Neuro-linguistic Programming coaching.
  • Cert IV in Mental Health or Youth Work, Mental Health First Aid.
  • Education/Early Education experience.
  • Allied Health experience (including students: OT Nursing, DE Speech Pathologist).
  • Medication administration.
