Job Overview

Teach Us Consent Global is seeking a creative and organised Social Media Coordinator to support across existing and new social media channels with engaging, youth-focused and culturally safe digital content that is evidence-backed. You’ll be able to work across platforms including social media, email and website, reporting on analytics and working alongside creative partners, young people and experts in a diverse and fast-paced environment. Later in the role, you may work across our United States content to coordinate global growth of social media channels for Teach Us Consent.

Responsibilities

  • Content creation: Support social media and other digital content development about porn literacy, consent and respectful relationships education for young people aged 13-25 (targeted at boys and men), including ideation, copywriting, graphic design, minor video editing and scheduling. Ability to create content for professional audiences and stakeholders including presentations and on LinkedIn.
  • Contribute to growth and new platform development: of TikTok and YouTube channels predominantly through planned and reactive lo-fi and high-fi content, while activating new platforms like Reddit.
  • Contribute to strategy: Work collaboratively with the content team on overall content strategy, paid ad strategy, and innovative content partnerships.
  • Insights and reporting: Optimisation of social media content across platforms based on collection of data and preparation of summary reports, including learnings and recommendations
  • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: Ensure content is culturally safe, representative of diversity, and genuinely engaging and educational for young people.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engagement with the Youth Advisory Group around content development and review processes. Consultation with experts, researchers to ensure content is aligned, accurate and evidence based.
  • Moderation: Reply to comments, manage DMs and moderate interactions with audiences across multiple platforms. Trauma-informed training and support is provided to all staff.

What we are looking for:

Essential:

  • 1-3 years+ of experience with communications, marketing, and/or social media and digital content
  • Experience growing social media platforms, particularly TikTok or YouTube, with varied content for young audiences
  • Experiencing writing to a strict tone of voice that is inclusive to all young people and reflective of our charity’s values
  • Ability to engage and manage new/existing stakeholders and partners
  • Ability to thrive in a growing NGO with competing priorities
  • Ability to create professional external facing content and communications
  • Highly organised, creative, ability to manage competing priorities
  • Ability to clearly communicate to diNerent stakeholders, including government, sector organisations, parents and educators and young people, and across social media, website and email.
  • Presentation and professionalism
  • Commitment to social justice and a world free from sexual violence

Highly desirable:

  • Experience with Figma, Canva, Adobe Premier Suite
  • University qualification in communications, digital design, social sciences and humanities
  • Subject matter knowledge of prevention of gender-based violence and consent and respectful relationships
  • Experience with Reddit, Twitch, and other social media platforms
  • Experience working with diverse priority population groups including LGBTQIA+, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, rural and remote, young people with disability, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
  • Knowledge of global social media trends and content including US and UK

Compensation & Benefits

Salary:

  • $80,000 AUD gross salary
