Child and Family Services Gold Coast provides services to families who have young children aged 0–8 years, with a parenting 'one stop shop' – somewhere they can access a range of support and services to improve their children's health, well-being and safety. Services include parenting programs, parent and child programs, playgroups, a variety of in home support programs, volunteer programs as well as other support programs to help meet the community’s needs.

Your new role

This leadership role sits across our 5 sites on the Gold Coast where you will have plenty of opportunity to work autonomously while ensuring that our services are effective, culturally appropriate and maximise great outcomes for children and their families. You will be overlooking our Family Support Program, Family Intervention Services as well as parenting support groups where clients are referred by government and non-government organisations as well as self-referrals.

With your experience in leading fully integrated teams, you will be managing a professional team, providing clear leadership, professional supervision, practice support and learning opportunities in collaboration with the Area Management Team. Your work will also include building and maintaining effective local relationships and collaborating with community partners and other stakeholders to facilitate referrals and improve outcomes for each client.

What you need to succeed?

You will experience leading a team in the Community Services, Health or Early Childhood Education sector and have:

  • Knowledge of effective service delivery in early intervention and child development;
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a team who is working with high risk children and families involved in the Child Protection system;
  • People leadership experience with the ability to build and develop an engaged, high performing team;
  • Good management skills including troubleshooting, managing multiple deadlines and conflict resolution;
  • Pragmatic approach to problem solving, decision making and manage balancing priorities;
  • Working in a collaborative, cross functional way with teams, peers and stakeholders to achieve outcomes;
  • A relevant degree qualification and current driver’s license.
