Our Rural Family Mental Health Support Service provides early intervention support to young people who are showing early signs of, or are at risk of developing, mental illness, to improve their wellbeing enabling them to better participate in their communities and reach their full potential.
As a Mental Health Practitioner, you will work with young people to develop healthy coping mechanisms through strength based approaches, instill emotional strategies to manage behaviour and make suitable referrals.
You will promote a culture where each young person’s point of view and preferences for recovery are recognised, respected and understood. An important part of this is building bridges between the young person and their community including school, medical services and psychological services.
You may also co-facilitate group work for example Tune into Teams, iRespect (male DV group), Loves Bites, Drum Beat, Rock and Water, Deadly Thinking etc.
