Tangentyere Council Aboriginal Corporation (TCAC) is a community controlled Public Benevolent Institution delivering human services and social enterprise activities for the benefit of Aboriginal people from the Alice Springs Town Camps, Urban Alice Springs and Central Australia.
The Intensive Family and Parenting Service (IFPS) program provides intensive support to families with children aged 0-18 residing in the Alice Springs region across the broad social work spectrum. Working from a strengths based perspective, the IFPS team provides focused and purposeful intensive support to families on their caseload, working alongside them to address safety concerns and risk factors to ensure the family stays together and the children can remain safely in the family home.
The Family and Kin Care (FKC) program provides a comprehensive range of kinship care services including family finding, carer assessment and approval, placement establishment and ongoing placement support. The program aims to lower the number of children in other placement types by focussing on both the identification and ongoing support of safe, suitable and sustainable family and kin care placements.
This position is focused on the provision of high level support, supervision and co-ordination to the above two programs. It requires extensive understanding and experience of the Child Protection system and relevant legislation, strong supervisory and communication skills, and high level case management knowledge relevant to the provision of effective support of staff with varying levels of experience. This position is directly responsible for all ensuring that all reporting requirements are met within timeframes as per program protocols, and it will require high levels of communication and engagement with the Department of Territory Families (TF).
