About Take Two

Take Two is a state-wide service providing high quality therapeutic services to children and young people who have suffered significant abuse, neglect or disrupted attachment and are clients of Child Protection. Working within the Bruce Perry’s neurosequential model of therapy, we work with the traumatised child, and with their caregivers, families and communities. We help them understand the child’s trauma, and how it’s impacting their development and behaviours.

The Opportunity

• Shepparton location on Yorta Yorta Country
• Full-time, Permanent role
• $106K + Super & Salary Packaging
• Travel across the Hume region required

This is a rewarding opportunity to join Take Two, a statewide therapeutic service supporting children and young people impacted by abuse, neglect and disrupted attachment.

As a Clinician you will:

• Carry a case load of clients who are at various stages of the episode of care, such as assessment, treatment and closure. Therapeutic work can range from short to long term.
• Work in a systemic and collaborative manner with the client, family and the care team to achieve the goals within the specified time frame.
• Deliver trauma-informed therapeutic services to children and young people in Child Protection.
• Conduct clinical assessments and develop treatment plans using the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT)
• Provide individual, dyadic and systemic interventions
• Work collaboratively with families, carers and care teams to achieve meaningful outcomes
• Contribute to reports, case planning and, where required, court processes

About You

You are a thoughtful, adaptable clinician who is passionate about trauma-informed care and working with vulnerable children and families.

You will bring:

• Experience working with children, young people and families in therapeutic settings
• Strong understanding of trauma, attachment and development
• Confidence working in complex systems such as Child Protection or Out-of-Home Care
• Excellent assessment, report writing and stakeholder engagement skills
• The ability to work collaboratively and flexibly within multidisciplinary teams
• A Bachelor level qualification in Social Work, Psychology Family Therapy, OT, Speech Pathology or related discipline.
