About Take Two

Take Two is a state-wide service providing high-quality therapeutic services to children and young people who have suffered significant abuse, neglect or disrupted attachment and are clients of Child Protection. Approximately 25% of Take Two’s client group are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.

About the Role

Take Two has many programs providing individual, dyadic and systemic client-facing services. The Hurstbridge Farm is an out of home care facility run by DHHS. This role sits within the farm to provide therapeutic support to the residential care workers and young people.

Key Responsibilities

This is a specialist role designed to provide clinical assessment, consultancy and therapeutic support to the Therapeutic Residential Care program at Hurstbridge Farm. This position is an outreach position which will involve significant periods of time at the residential unit. Some travel is required for this position.

The role responsibilities include:

  • Provide cultural consultation and training to Hurstbridge Farm staff working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people to increase the service’s capacity of culturally appropriate assessment, and therapeutic support.
  • Provide secondary consultation and the dissemination of resources and information related to culture and cultural events
  • Conduct assessments and develop culturally appropriate therapeutic support plans guided by the Neurosequential model, with clear goals that are reviewed regularly.
  • Work in a systemic and collaborative manner with the client, family and the care team to achieve the goals within the specified time frame. 
  • Provide culturally respectful community consultation for local communities in the designated region regarding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children

This role is also open to a Graduate Clinician with a base salary of $78K pro rata plus super and salary packaging. As a Graduate you will partner with a Clinician to build and develop on the above mentioned skills and responsibilities.

About You

The successful candidate will be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person that brings their cultural knowledge and practice wisdom to inform Take Two’s work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people. You will have a sound understanding of the complexities of the service system, a demonstrated ability to provide direct service in the clinical assessment and therapeutic support of young people and families. You will also have had experience within the Out of Home Care sector.

This role also requires a minimum Bachelor level qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Family Therapy, Child Psychotherapy or a relevant field.
