Are you passionate about supporting Aboriginal children and young people and leading culturally safe, community-led practice?

The Tasmanian Aboriginal Centre is seeking a Team Leader - Youth Justice to provide leadership and support to a team of Youth Workers working with young people who are at risk of or involved in the youth justice system.

This role is ideal for someone who can lead with integrity, build strong relationships, respond to complex situations and champion positive outcomes for Aboriginal young people and families.

In this role you will:

  • Lead and support Youth Workers
  • Promote culturally safe and trauma-informed practice
  • Coordinate responses for young people with complex needs
  • Build strong partnerships across community and services
  • Advocate for Aboriginal children, young people and families
  • Contribute to positive youth justice reform outcomes

We're looking for someone with:

  • Experience working with young people and families.
  • Leadership or team coordination experience.
  • Strong cultural awareness and commitment to Aboriginal self-determination.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to manage risk and support complex service delivery.
  • Current National Police Check and Working with Vulnerable People Registration.
  • Current Drivers Licence.
  • Covid-19 vaccination.

Permanent - Full-time or Part-time - Statewide Tasmania

  • Starting salary of $99,133 pa + Salary Packaging
  • 16% Superannuation
