Policy and Advocacy Manager

Swoop Aero

About Swoop Aero:

Swoop Aero was founded to transform how the world moves essential supplies by making access to the skies seamless. We were the first company globally to deliver a vaccine using a drone under a commercial contract. Since then, we've expanded globally, transforming the health supply chain with drone logistics operations in four countries.

The work we’re doing is shifting the future of healthcare. We are having an immediate impact on the lives of people who live within the communities our operations are conducted in. Lots of companies say they have an impact but we really have one. We’ve got big plans to shift the paradigm in both developing and developed markets alike, both by deploying our fully managed logistics service into the health supply chain, and providing selected partners with our technology platform to further expand their impact.

To deliver on our vision, we’ve brought together a team of eternally optimistic and resourceful ‘doers’ to tackle these seemingly insurmountable problems and make all this become a reality. Last year we tripled our team size, and this year despite all the challenges we are doing it again.

About You:

So, what next? With our experienced team and strong capital backing, we’re working to build our global team and expand operations across multiple markets. We are looking for a relentless Policy and Advocacy Manager to join our ambitious team and advance the development of autonomous aircraft regulations to further Swoop Aero’s ability to deliver life changing logistics.

Our ideal candidate will come equipped with a deep knowledge of policy development and reform, allowing you to tactfully drive, develop and deliver on high-reaching advocacy and policy goals. Your strong communications skills, political instinct and judgement will allow you to successfully execute advocacy campaigns that will inspire rapid change and influence relevant parties to take action! Success in this role will not only change the landscape of aviation regulation, but strengthen the global health supply chain and enable better access to healthcare for millions of people around the world.

About the role:

This is an opportunity for an innovative individual to make their mark and contribute to a rapidly growing industry whose regulations are at their infancy. You will join our growing Advocacy and Certification team to lead the development of a global, ground breaking strategy which will see Swoop Aero become the first Australian Company to successfully obtain FAA certification for an autonomous aircraft and ultimately, change the way the world transports supplies.

Reporting to the Head of Regulatory Affairs, you will provide strategic oversight and leadership to ensure the certification of Swoop Aero’s next generation aircraft. In addition, you will spearhead campaigns which will pursue the development and implementation of new autonomous aircraft regulations around the world.

This position provides a unique opportunity to contribute to a global conversation about how innovation can drive positive change. You will execute all project advocacy and policy goals through building strong relationships with key aviation authorities, policy makers and other crucial decision makers. You will build the capacity of our Commercial team, as well as our global partners by providing quality advice on complex policy matters, contributing to proposals and providing strategic guidance which will contribute to our strategy and further advance Swoop Aero’s mission to provide a sustainable logistics solution reaching 100 million people by 2025.
