The Role

As the Program Coordinator for the Woree Temporary Supported Accommodation, you will oversee daily operations to ensure high-quality service delivery and positive client outcomes. You will coordinate service provision, support individuals with complex needs, and lead the performance and development of your team. Key requirements of this role include strong leadership and case management skills, sound analytical abilities, and a commitment to working within relevant funding agreements, legislation, and the policies and procedures of the St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure all operations comply with funding agreements, legislation, and organisational policies, while effectively managing financial, human, and physical resources.
  • Coordinate and oversee daily service delivery to achieve quality outcomes for clients.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor strategies to improve program performance, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage budgets and financial reporting in consultation with the Senior Manager.
  • Provide effective leadership to build a positive, high-performing team culture.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and represent the program within the community.
  • Oversee administration, reporting, rostering, and related operational tasks.
  • Champion a safe, compliant, and professional work environment.

This is a Permanent, Full-Time Position (38 hours per week) role based in Cairns.

Desired Skills and Experience

To be successful in the role, you will meet the following criteria:

  • Tertiary Qualification Degree in social work, psychology, social sciences or a related discipline
  • Minimum five years’ industry experience working with clients in crisis including holistic person-centred case management frameworks
  • Current Class C Drivers’ Licence is required
  • Demonstrated program coordination and leadership skills, including human resources and financial management, quality assurance, risk management and reporting
  • Previous experience as a coordinator of equivalent senior position with accountability for operational outcomes and direct reports
  • Demonstrated sound knowledge, skills and experience in holistic complex case management that is client centred
  • Demonstrated sound knowledge, skills, experience and commitment to individualized strengths-based planning and support service delivery
  • Competent skills in the use of technology with sound IT skills – Microsoft applications, databases
  • Knowledge of and ability to work within relevant funding guidelines and legislative requirements relating to the delivery of program outcomes and safety and risk
  • Ability to inspire and lead a small team including well-developed interpersonal, communication, IT and organisation skills
  • Understanding of and commitment to the philosophy of the St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland and an ability to work in accordance with policies and procedures to promote the values and mission of the Society
