The Sunrise Project is a small organisation with an oversized impact. Driven by a passion to solve the climate crisis, we are a team of experienced campaigners, analysts and communications professionals with a mission to scale social movements to drive the transition beyond fossil fuels. With programs in Australia, Europe and the US, we’re focussed on stopping major new fossil fuel projects, accelerating the transition to 100% renewable energy in Australia, and shifting the global finance sector out of fossil fuels.
Through our grants program we provide partner NGOs with the capacity they need, while our staff team provides strategy, analysis and networking support for partners to work together for greater impact. For more information about how we work: www.sunriseproject.org.au.
The Sunrise Project is committed to justice and equality. We value diversity at all levels of the organisation and we are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We believe that a wide array of perspectives promotes innovation and makes our team more creative, flexible and productive.
Working as part of the Operations team, you will take responsibility for keeping the office running smoothly, providing administrative and logistical support to the team and the Board, liaising with our partners and suppliers and solving all manner of different problems. Our organisation is growing and the role will evolve as the needs of the team change.
Although you will report to the Operations Director, your role will involve providing all members of the Sunrise team globally with the support, tools and processes they need to do their jobs efficiently.
You are a seriously well-organised person who brings order to chaos, loves making people’s lives easy and has an eagle eye for detail, and is passionate about supporting a global team of campaigners aiming to solve the climate crisis. The role will evolve as our organisation grows and will suit someone who is keen to grow and develop their skills.
You take pride in working as part of a team to provide seamless operational support enabling campaign staff in Australia and globally, to focus on what they do best. You’re flexible, love variety and are happy operating at any level. You thrive on being the “go to” person for queries about how to get things done and you’re adept at sharing information and coaching others.
You appreciate the big picture of our mission and balance that with a high level of attention to detail and a collaborative mind-set to prioritise your work.
Your capabilities will include the following:
The salary range is $62,400 to $70,000 p.a. plus superannuation, depending on experience.
The Sunrise Project has flexible working hours and we are open to work-from-home and part-time arrangements for the right candidate.
