The Role

As the Regional Finance / Support Coordinator you will report to the Group Financial Controller and work in collaboration with Accounts Officers to coordinate and manage finance and accounting functions and processes for your region. You will work extensively with Society Members in the region to support the good work they do every day. This role is ideal for someone who has general administrative and/or some finance transaction processing experience and excellent Customer service skills, who is looking for a role with impact.

You will be accountable for:

  • Coordinating the financial accounting functions of the Region to ensure compliance and effective management of financial resources
  • Preparing and distributing timely and accurate reports to Conferences, Central Council meetings
  • Overseeing the Food Voucher register reconciliation, ordering and distribution.
  • Assisting and providing guidance from a Region perspective to the budgeting process.
  • Managing and monitoring local fixed assets including management of the asset register and assisting the regional stakeholders in the procurement and disposal of motor vehicles
  • Supporting the Accounts Payable function including approvals, cheque signings and oversight of donations fundraising and special projects.
  • Providing financial support and business partnering with staff and membership across the region
  • Managing and processing all transactions in the main bank account for the region.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant qualification/s in accounting or similar discipline.
  • Experience with using large Accounting Software packages Great Plains or similar.
  • Demonstrated ability and knowledge of accounting principles, accounts maintenance, accounts payable, receivable and asset management.
  • Demonstrated ability to review and analyse business data and analytics to support effective reporting and decision-making on operational performance.
  • Proven ability to meet tight timeframes, manage workflows and multiple projects
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
