The OHS officer will act as a subject expert within the Quality and Governance team, providing support and expert advice to Health Safety Representatives (HSR’s), executive management, managers and staff to provide skills to conduct intensive area inspections within each MDAS department in accordance with compliance obligations and best practice guidelines for health and safety.

The successful candidate will be eligible for an attractive remuneration package including the ability to salary sacrifice and receive an additional 10 Health and Wellbeing days per annum on top of the statutory annual and personal leave provisions.

MDAS is looking for a OHS Officer that is:

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team environment
  • Resilient and empathetic in nature
  • An enthusiastic, team player with a keen eye for detail and a passion for Health and Safety
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to undertake OHS/risk audits and investigations
  • Provide training and education to staff on specific OHS issues and their legislative rights and obligations
  • WorkCover support / Return to work support

To be successful the candidate must have a Diploma in OHS or higher level of achievement and fulfil MDAS licensing and screening obligations.
