Our Service:

headspace Centres act as a one-stop-shop for young people who need help with mental health, physical health, alcohol and other drugs and/or work and study support.

Role overview:

  • Provide high standard GP assessments of persons experiencing physical and mental health issues
  • Liaising and working with internal and external stakeholders
  • Creating Mental Health Care Plans for internal referrals, Psychiatrist and Allied Health Services
  • Providing high quality, primary health care services to those accessing headspace
  • Respond to medical/health concerns presented by patients including history taking, diagnosis, investigation, treatment and referral as appropriate
  • Encourage and support young people to engage with sexual health and drug and alcohol services as well as preventative health care

Requirements:

  • Current registration with AHPRA Personal Professional Indemnity Insurance
  • A commitment to quality youth-focused primary health care services to those accessing the centre(s)
  • Eligibility to provide services under Medicare and be willing to Bulk Bill
  • Level 1 in Mental Health Skills Training
