About ABMDR

The Australian Bone Marrow Donor Registry (ABMDR) is the not-for-profit organisation dedicated to finding matching donors for patients needing life-saving stem cell transplants. ABMDR manages a registry of volunteer donors, facilitates the search for matching donors, and coordinates the donation and delivery of stem cells to patients. We are driven by our vision of a world where a match is made for every person whose life depends on it.

Your role

Strength to Give is an initiative of ABMDR that seeks to grow and engage a movement of passionate volunteer stem cell donors. Your role as an Acquisition Marketing Specialist, or Donor Recruitment Specialist in our language, is to lead our growth initiatives. Your work will directly contribute to our mission because more donors means more matches and more hope for patients and their families.

What you'll do:

  • Strategise and Innovate: Work closely with the Head of Marketing & Engagement to craft a comprehensive, budget-efficient acquisition strategy, utilising a blend of digital and traditional channels such as omnichannel advertising, social media, PPC, SEO, and events. Constantly seek and evaluate new channels to keep our donor engagement strategies ahead of the curve.
  • Execute and Manage Campaigns: Deliver the entire lifecycle of marketing campaigns, from initial planning to execution. This involves detailed project management, coordination with agencies, producing creative content, and monitoring costs. You'll ensure campaigns not only meet high standards but effectively contribute to our donor recruitment goals, making adjustments as needed for optimal performance.
  • Drive Organic Growth: Enhance our website's SEO to improve visibility and accessibility. Create engaging, multi-format content for our social media and other owned channels to inspire potential donors.
  • Optimise for Conversion: Identify strategic improvements to our website and forms to boost donor sign-up rates. Develop and refine email and SMS journeys in our CRM to convert interests into actions, closely monitoring the conversion process from lead generation to donor registration.
  • Analyse and Report: Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of our acquisition efforts using analytics tools. Report on key metrics, trends, and campaign performance, providing insights and recommendations for future strategy adjustments with the support of the Head of Marketing & Engagement.

What We're Looking For:

At the heart of our search is a blend of technical skills and personal attributes that align with our mission and culture. We value the combination of skills and character that contribute not only to our team's success but also to the positive impact we aim to have on the world.

Personality and Cultural Fit:

  • We're looking for someone with drive who will explore every avenue and opportunity to ensure our goals are met, leaving no stone unturned in their quest to find the best ways to grow the registry.
  • The ideal candidate recommends decisions grounded in realism, effectively balancing the optimal use of resources with both our immediate and future needs.
  • We value those who view our work through the lens of the donor's entire journey and experience with us, not just focusing on the recruitment phase but considering the lasting impact of their interaction with our organisation.
  • We seek team members who thrive in a collaborative environment, prioritise our team's collective achievements, and contribute to the greater good of our mission.

Technical Skills:

  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and executing a multi-channel strategy for growth, encompassing both digital and traditional mediums.
  • Ability to produce compelling, diverse content tailored for various digital platforms, resonating with our audience and driving engagement.
  • Hands-on experience with CRM systems, adept at managing targeted email and SMS campaigns and monitoring engagement metrics.
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to oversee complex campaigns and coordinate effectively with both internal teams and external agencies.
