St Kilda Gatehouse is a not for profit organisation which began as an outreach service working alongside street based sex workers in St Kilda. Since 1992 the organisation has built its relational model of care around community development and social justice.
St Kilda Gatehouse provides spaces of belonging and safety where individuals experience social inclusion with respect and unconditional acceptance.
The Drop-In centre is the primary point of contact for many who live and work on the streets, providing a safe, homely environment. Assisting individuals starts with genuine engagement, building trust, offering opportunities to form positive and meaningful relationships, as well as providing crisis care and referrals.
St Kilda Drop-In centre is open five days a week. Women who access the centre face barriers such as family violence, drug addiction, homelessness, poverty, mental health challenges, and social isolation.
This role is a 3 day/week position, located in St Kilda. As a part of the Drop In team, you will maintain and develop a range of services and activities within and beyond the St Kilda Gatehouse Drop-In centre. You will ensure that individuals feel welcomed and provided with information, support, material aid, advocacy, and referrals to other support networks and primary agencies.
