About the Opportunity

Our St John Fundraising team is growing in 2021 and seeking to welcome a new team member in this exciting opportunity of permanent part-time (3.5 days per week). Reporting to the Fundraising Manager, this valuable role will be responsible for identifying funding opportunities across government, corporate, philanthropic and partnerships sectors and coordinating responses and monitoring outcomes. By leveraging existing networks and developing relationships with new funds you will ensure funding opportunities align to our strategic plans and ensure the growth of St John. As a key member of the Fundraising Team, this role is responsible for achieving annual grant funding targets and for growing revenue from these sources year on year.

About You

To be successful in this position you will have knowledge and sufficient accumulated experience to develop and implement a comprehensive plan for raising funds from philanthropic, corporate and government grants. You will be able to research, submit outstanding applications and produce high quality impact reports for funding received.

Note: Experience in Grants, Major Donor, Bequest Fundraising and/or key Account Management is highly desirable.

Essential Skills and Attributes (Selection Criteria):

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar grant-seeking and/or research role.
  • Successful track record of achieving targets and growing grant funding.
  • Experience writing philanthropic grant applications.
  • Experience in proactively marketing and promoting services and identifying new opportunities and developing supporter relationships.
  • Experience in engaging directly and personally with high value donors and supporters.
  • Passion for research, analytics and insights.
  • Superior time management, organisational and project management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills.
  • Proven ability to lead, plan and execute projects.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a related field i.e., Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or Communications, Business, or Commerce.
  • Willingness to undertake a current Police check and Working with Children Check.
