This role is ideal for a Marketing or Communications professional with a minimum of five years of experience, able to work independently and as part of a larger diverse team.

Reporting directly to the CEO, this part-time opportunity would suit a creative and organised communications professional who has a passion for community services and social justice issues. 

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Copywriting and content development such as case studies, client profiles etc
  • Devise and roll-out an integrated communications plan, executing PR, media liaison, marketing and digital campaigns
  • Devise and roll-out marcomms strategies to support fundraising efforts
  • Devise and roll-out PR campaigns including managing key media contacts
  • Digital and social media marketing of the organisation and its services
  • Editing and/or proofing of collateral, reports, media releases etc.
  • Grow the profile of the organisation, its key services and the CEO
  • Managing the database
  • Managing the website and writing and distributing regular newsletters
  • Reporting on marketing effectiveness, reach and audience etc
  • Support the brand strategy
  • Various other marketing and communications activities as directed
  • Working with internal and external stakeholders 

About you

You already have proven work experience in working independently and as part of a diverse team in a dynamic and client-centric setting. You are digitally savvy and have solid skills across a range of marketing disciplines. You will have experience with WordPress, HTML enewsletter platforms, and design programs such as Adobe, Canva and Vimeo. You will be organised, have good procedural skills, excellent attention to detail and great written and oral communication skills. 

We need someone with the ability to work proactively and able to demonstrate a high level of initiative, professionalism and customer service. We are also very interested in a great cultural fit, so an interest in social justice issues would be favoured.

Essential Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications in PR, Communications or Marketing
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills across a variety of settings
  • Demonstrated ability to work sensitively in a culturally and linguistically diverse environment
  • Ability to work with various church and community groups without discrimination
  • Strong support for the culture and mission of SFSS and the ability to work in a team culture of service to others which is consistent with Catholic social teaching
  • Driver’s licence

Desirable Criteria:

  • Demonstrated ability to engage with donors and supporters to grow revenue and donor base
  • Demonstrated understanding of policy framework and issues encountered by disadvantaged young people and their families and refugees and asylum seekers in Australia
  • Experience within the not for profit sector as an employee

Our holistic services include: Family and youth counselling and case work, in-school early intervention and prevention group work, therapeutic groups for young people in out-of-home care and parenting programs.

Salary

$75,000 to $83,000 pro rata + generous benevolent institution salary packaging available.
