We are seeking an experienced and proactive WHS Specialist who is passionate about strengthening safety, wellbeing, and compliance across a diverse and regulated care environment.

This role is ideal for a WHS professional who enjoys partnering with leaders, influencing culture, and delivering practical safety solutions that support both people and service outcomes.

You will work closely with leaders and teams across residential care, community services, and corporate functions, helping to embed a strong safety mindset while ensuring legislative compliance and continuous improvement.

This is a role with visibility, impact, and scope, suited to an experienced WHS practitioner who can operate strategically while remaining hands on and connected to operational realities.

What You Will Lead

  • Champion a positive Safety and Wellbeing culture across the organisation
  • Act as the primary WHS contact and trusted advisor to leaders and teams
  • Provide WHS business partnering support aligned with organisational strategy
  • Own and deliver the organisation's WHS and Workers Compensation frameworks
  • Lead and support WHS Committees, including chairing meetings and recording minutes
  • Manage WHS activities including hazard and incident investigations, inspections, corrective and preventative actions, and compliance obligations
  • Oversee the management of Workers Compensation claims and rehabilitation outcomes in conjunction with insurers
  • Deliver WHS training, including needs analysis, delivery, and participation management
  • Develop, review, and implement WHS policies, procedures, and programs to meet legislative and organisational requirements
  • Conduct workplace audits and inspections and support leaders to implement improvement actions
  • Analyse and report on WHS performance metrics to drive continuous improvement
  • Partner with the Chief People Officer and the HR team to lead WHS cultural initiatives and best practice outcomes
  • Contribute to broader People, Engagement & Culture initiatives as required

About You

You are a knowledgeable and confident WHS practitioner with the ability to influence at all levels, build strong working relationships, and navigate complex, regulated environments with credibility and professionalism.

You combine strong technical WHS expertise with a collaborative, business partnering approach and are passionate about creating workplaces where people feel safe, supported, and engaged.

You bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in a WHS role within a complex or multi-site organisation
  • Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, codes of practice, and compliance requirements
  • Experience developing and implementing WHS policies, systems, and frameworks
  • Proven ability to lead WHS cultural change and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Strong consulting, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Highly developed communication skills with a service oriented mindset
  • The ability to partner effectively with leaders and employees at all levels
  • Tertiary qualification in Workplace Health & Safety or a related field
  • Experience in aged care, health, disability, or another regulated sector (highly regarded)
