This position forms part of STARTTS Direct Service program and will service clients who have entered Australia as asylum seekers and who are permanent residents. The position is to provide a comprehensive assessment, referral and counselling service to Refugee and Special Humanitarian Program entrants living in Sydney metropolitan areas. The successful applicant will be part of a multicultural and multi-disciplinary team.
You will have Tertiary qualifications in health, counselling, behavioural or social sciences. Demonstrated assessment and counselling experience in a cross-cultural context and experience in working with children, adolescents and adults in a clinical setting. You will be a highly motivated person with excellent communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated understanding of the issues affecting refugees in particular resettlement issues, and the effects of torture on individuals, young people, families, and communities.

Work Type: 38 hours per week. Contract up to 30 June 2022 (continuation subject to ongoing funding)
Location: Blacktown
Salary: Health Education Officer or relevant classification depending on qualifications.
A generous salary packaging scheme is also offered to reduce the taxable income and increase the take home pay.
