About the Role
This part time (0.6FTE) FTE Marketing & Communications Manager role is responsible for leading and delivering all marketing and communications activities for SRI. This is a pivotal role in a small organisation where you will have end-to-end ownership of the function.
You will develop and implement SRI’s marketing and communications strategy aligned with organisational priorities, while ensuring consistent, high-quality messaging across all channels.
A key focus of the role is managing the redevelopment of the SRI website and overseeing the transition to a refreshed brand, ensuring all content, platforms, and assets are aligned and effectively support engagement and visibility.
This is a hands-on role that combines strategy, content creation, digital marketing, stakeholder engagement, and brand stewardship.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Marketing & Communications
- Develop and implement a marketing and communications strategy aligned with organisational goals
- Promote SRI programs to build awareness, engagement, and participation
- Develop and implement SEO strategies and use digital tools to improve visibility and reach
- Maintain and develop strategic partnerships across the spinal cord injury sector
Website & Content
- Lead the redevelopment of the SRI website, ensuring alignment with brand and strategy
- Create and manage content across website, email, and digital channels
- Support development of publications, marketing materials, and collateral
Brand & Messaging
- Act as brand custodian, ensuring consistent application of brand across all channels
- Maintain alignment of messaging across internal and external communications
Social Media & Digital
- Develop and manage social media strategy and campaigns
- Grow and maintain SRI’s digital presence across key platforms
Media & External Affairs
- Support external communications across research, clinical, funding, and community stakeholders
- Act as media contact and manage media enquiries
Reporting & Insights
- Monitor analytics across website and social channels
- Provide reporting insights to leadership and Board
About You
You are a capable, self-directed communications professional who is comfortable working across both strategy and delivery in a small organisation. You bring strong writing skills, digital capability, and the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
You will likely have:
- Tertiary qualifications in marketing, communications, or related field
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Proven experience managing end-to-end communications projects
- Strong digital and content skills (CMS, social media, analytics)
- Ability to work independently and engage confidently with stakeholders
- A genuine interest in the not-for-profit or health/research sector
