UX / UI Designer

Speckle Digital

The role in a nutshell

We’re growing and searching for a UX/UI Designer to help bring our website and application projects to life. As an integral part of our studio, you’ll work closely with our clients and our team to deliver digital projects that are as functional as they are beautiful. Your work will be helping build a better tomorrow – designing digital solutions for social-enterprises, not-for-profits and government organisations doing good in the world.

Reporting to our Director, Ash, you would work within an ambitious team of creative professionals who value curiosity, a growth mindset, and embrace the idea of doing things differently. You can expect that there will be plenty of growth opportunities, exposure to strategic planning (both for our clients and within Speckle) and the space to make your mark on our growing business.

Bring us your creative, user-centric brain, a desire for growth and to do good in the world. In return, we’ll offer you a creative, ambitious and impact-focused team to bounce off, the tools you need to do your thing, and the support you need to flourish.

You could be the one if you have:

  • 4+ years experience in UX/UI design
  • Experience working in a fast-paced digital agency environment
  • A desire to create great experiences for users, on projects that make a difference
  • Proficiency in Figma
  • A keen appreciation of processes and streamlining your workflow
  • An understanding, or appetite to learn, about the design to development handover process and working with developers to deliver end products. Experience with HTML/CSS would be a huge plus.
  • The ability to work autonomously and collaboratively. You enjoy quiet focus time and bouncing off others to create new ideas
  • A curious, creative and collaborative approach, with an eye for detail
  • The desire to work for a company that cares about doing good things for the world.

If you were here in the last week you might have…

  • Taken part in a Discovery workshop with our client to unpack and define their needs
  • Workshopped the user flow of a new mobile application with the team and suggested improvements for the user's experience
  • Designed the website wireframes for a large not-for-profit organisation in Figma
  • Worked on the interface design for a mobile application for a social enterprise
  • Run a handover of your designs with our development team using the toolkit you developed – ensuring that they're clear on what we're trying to achieve from layout to interaction
  • Collaborated with our design team to share your work, provide feedback on theirs and jam about what's new and exciting in the world of digital design
  • Reviewed the built outputs from our development team to QA and share feedback
