Thank you for your interest in applying for the position of Mobile Assessment & Treatment Team (MATT) Senior Clinician. Multiple roles are available and will be based at our headspace Adelaide Centre.
Established in 2006, headspace is a well-recognised, national not-for-profit organisation making a difference to the lives of young people aged 12-25 years. headspace enables young people and their families to access information and support through a national network of centres and services, and drives community awareness and education about youth mental health, early intervention and help seeking.
headspace Adelaide delivers the headspace Youth Early Psychosis Program which supports young people deemed to be at high risk of or experiencing a first episode of psychosis. The service is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of health professionals and focuses on the provision of early intervention services, utilising evidence-based practice with the vision of improving the quality of life of young people.
The headspace Adelaide Youth Early Psychosis Program will ensure provision of timely, accessible, recovery focused care based on the Early Psychosis Prevention and Intervention Centre (EPPIC) model of care.
All MATT clinicians will offer a comprehensive assessment and intensive, extended hours, seven day, home treatment service to young people presenting with or at ultra high risk of a first episode of psychosis who are new to the service or who are already engaged with the service and require intensive support in the community. Clinicians will be required to work on a rotating roster which may include a recall/on-call system. MATT Senior Clinicians will report to the MATT Team Leader and, where appointed by the MATT Team Leader, will supervise clinicians in the service.
Registered Mental Health Nurses are strongly encouraged to apply.
What is the role of a lead agency?
Each local headspace Centre is led by a lead agency on behalf of a local partnership of organisations responsible for the delivery of mental health, drug & alcohol and primary care services as well as community-based providers of vocational assistance and training.
Lead Agencies are locally based and run services that are able to share the vision of a headspace Centre and ensure this is appropriately meeting the needs of the local community.
