The Program Worker for Family connect in schools (FCIS) will have a key role in the delivery of high-quality services to families and children accessing both primary and secondary Catholic Schools. A key focus will be to work alongside the Diocese school team within their policies, protocols and processes to improve outcomes for vulnerable children and their families/carers by supporting healthy, safe and thriving home environments.
The position is based within the schools providing a soft entry point to link families to services ensuring the right support at the right time. The Program Worker ensures the provision of high-quality services to achieve optimum levels of service delivery and client outcomes in line with the Social Futures Practice Framework requirements while ensuring business performance outcomes, standards and compliance requirements are met.
Family Connect in schools is an early intervention service providing timely information and advice, appropriate warm referrals and practical assistance to children, young people and families. The ability to be flexible and responsive to the needs of the service, build positive connections and work collaboratively with key stakeholders are essential to the position. The role will include completing intake and/or risk assessments, case coordination and linking families into support services while having a child safety lens about your work. The ability to build collaborative robust relationships within the school community and work within the ethos of the Catholic Schools is essential to the position.
