The Sydney North Health Network (SNHN) is seeking to appoint a Board Director to contribute to the achievement of our strategy and governance outcomes. The Sydney North Health Network operates the Northern Sydney PHN, one of the 31 Commonwealth-funded Primary Health Networks (PHNs).
SNHN is heading into its 9th year of operation and remains firmly focused on supporting the community who are at greatest risk of poor health outcomes, striving to achieve the quadruple aim of better population health, better experience of care, better value for the system and doing so with an exceptional workforce.
Living or working (including volunteer work) within the area of Sydney North Health Network and understanding the needs of the Sydney North region is a requirement.
Previous experience as a director and formal training in directorship/corporate governance will be highly regarded. A background in legal training would also be favourable.
As part of an experienced Board, you will be responsible for setting corporate objectives, strategies, and policies, overseeing and monitoring the performance and purpose and ensuring the organisation has processes in place to adhere to relevant standards and values.
As one of our board members is coming to the end of their term, we are seeking a new board member with experience, capabilities and qualification in the areas listed below.
SNHN has an important role in supporting and strengthening primary healthcare in the Northern Sydney region and we believe this is best achieved by working collaboratively with our network of local health providers including General Practice, Allied Health, the Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) and other public and private health and social care services. This is reflected in our approach to commissioning, which aims to drive improvements in quality, safety, integration and person-centredness.
A key focus of the SNHN is to assist over 900,000 people in our region to care for their own health and when necessary, effectively navigate a (complex) health care and support system. This is achieved by working together with a network of health professionals including General Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Allied Health Providers, the NSLHD and other health and community services.
