The Smith Family is a children’s education charity that helps young Australians experiencing disadvantage to create better futures for themselves through harnessing the power of education.

We are seeking an experienced Administration Assistant to join our organisation. Reporting to the Office Manager, WA and working alongside dedicated, energised, and passionate team members, this role will provide support to the Office Manager, and broad administration support to the WA team (across sites). This position will include special projects and events to support teams in community offices and in State Office.

About our role

You will be responsible for:

  • Provide general coordination and reception assistance for the State Office.
  • Troubleshoot IT issues in the State Office and effectively manage subsequent disruptions.
  • Provide administrative support to the wider WA team.
  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Assist with work health and safety processes and requirements.

About you

As well as passion for community, you will bring the following:

  • Demonstrated experience of working collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically to solve problems.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • A flexible and willing attitude to follow instruction and undertake new challenges.
  • Demonstrated experience in reception and administration.
  • Intermediate or advanced knowledge of Microsoft suite of programs and IT troubleshooting skills.
  • Have or willing to obtain an employee Working With Children's Check
