THE OPPORTUNITY

We are on the look-out for an experienced and commercially driven Business Development Manager to join our team.

Reporting to the Group Operations Manager, this role will focus on driving growth across South Australia, while working closely with and supporting our Adelaide team to expand our employer network and increase apprenticeship and traineeship placements.

This is a high-impact role suited to a people-focused professional who thrives on generating new business, identifying market opportunities, and delivering measurable growth outcomes.

You will take ownership of growth initiatives in South Australia, building strategic employer partnerships and strengthening our market presence.

Success in this role will be measured through:

  • Growth in active employer partnerships across SA
  • Increased apprenticeship and traineeship commencements
  • Lead generation and conversion performance
  • Contribution to state-based revenue and placement targets

Key responsibilities:

Business Development & Employer Engagement

  • Identify, target, and secure new employer partnerships across South Australia.
  • Develop and execute a strategic growth plan for the SA market.
  • Support and collaborate with the recruitment team to maximise placement outcomes.
  • Build strong relationships with industry bodies, employers, and community stakeholders.
  • Prepare proposals, presentations, and workforce solutions tailored to employer needs.
  • Leverage our CRM to track growth opportunities and build a pipeline of engaged employers.
  • Represent WPC Group at expos, events, and community forums.
  • Meet monthly outreach and lead generation targets.
  • Convert leads into signed employer partnerships.
  • Contribute to quarterly growth goals in apprenticeships and traineeships.

Customer Service & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Respond to enquiries from employers, apprentices, and the public.
  • Build lasting relationships and support our growing network.
  • Strengthen relationships with existing SA employers to drive repeat business and referrals.
  • Work collaboratively with internal recruitment and mentoring teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Provide professional, solution-focused engagement with employers and partners.

About You

You are commercially astute and sales-focused, bringing a strong track record of achieving and exceeding targets. You're confident in your ability to make impactful face-to-face introductions and influence decision makers, supported every step of the way by our national business development team.

You'll thrive in this role if you:

  • Have proven experience in business development, sales or account management roles.
  • Communicate clearly, professionally and with impact.
  • Are a confident self-starter who takes ownership and drives results.
  • Take initiative and work well independently. Love building relationships and helping others succeed.
  • Stay organised while juggling multiple priorities effectively.
  • Have a genuine interest in workforce development and creating opportunities in the community.

Experience within apprenticeship, training, recruitment, or workforce solutions industries will be highly regarded.
