As a Community Educator, you will play a vital role in empowering older people to exercise their rights and navigate their care journey with confidence.

Our dedicated team of Community Educators focus on building awareness within NSW communities by delivering high-quality educational presentations, workshops, resources and information sessions to older people, community organisations, carers, families and culturally diverse communities.

Whether it’s providing tailored education sessions to meet the needs of diverse audiences, delivering presentations face to face or online, representing Seniors Rights Service at community forums, expos, conferences and stakeholder events, or contributing to the development of innovative education initiatives and campaigns, you’ll have the opportunity to make a real impact.

Role Responsibilities

• Develop engaging community education presentations, workshops and information sessions.
• Facilitate education sessions for older people, families, carers, community groups, service providers and professionals.
• Deliver presentations both face to face and online using a range of learning methodologies.
• Tailor educational content to meet the needs of diverse audiences.
• Represent Seniors Rights Service at community forums, expos, conferences and stakeholder events.
• Develop, review and update educational materials, presentations, fact sheets and resources.
• Ensure education content reflects current legislation, policy, best practice and organisational priorities.
• Contribute to the development of innovative education initiatives and campaigns.
• Assist in the creation of culturally appropriate and accessible educational resources.
• Identify and pursue opportunities to deliver community education programs and presentations, including bookings and schedules.
• Maintain accurate records of education activities and collect and analyse participant feedback and evaluation data.
• Prepare reports as required.
• Undertake other duties consistent with the role and skills of the position.
• Some intrastate travel is required.

Essential Criteria:

1. Demonstrated experience delivering community education, training, workshops or public presentations.
2. Experience designing, coordinating and evaluating programs or community events.
3. Strong ability to engage and communicate with groups of people including seniors and community stakeholders.
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including strong facilitation and public speaking skills.
5. Ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences and stakeholders.
6. Experience developing educational resources and presentation materials.
7. Ability to work as part of a team and independently and prioritise your work and deliver results.
8. Strong organisational and project coordination skills.
9. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
10. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and online presentation platforms.
11. Willing to use your own registered and comprehensively insured vehicle, where you will be reimbursed for work related mileage claims.
12. Prepared to undertake and maintain a National Criminal History check, current NSW Driver Licence and willingness to travel as a condition of employment.
