Sex Education Australia (SEA) is looking for a warm, skilled educator to join our team working in Melbourne primary and secondary schools.

About SEA
Founded in 2011, SEA partners with over 100 Victorian schools to deliver evidence-based sexuality and relationships education. Our programs align with the Victorian Curriculum and are led by educators who are genuinely passionate about giving young people accurate information, practical skills, and a safe space to learn.
We focus on helping students
- Understand how their bodies work and how to keep their bodies safe
- Develop confidence to talk about bodies, puberty, relationships, and sexual health
- Learn about respect, consent, and communication
- Build healthy friendships and relationships
- Develop decision-making skills and manage risk
- Develop positive attitudes about sexuality
- Celebrate diversity in their communities
The Role
- Deliver engaging, age-appropriate programs using SEA's provided lesson plans and frameworks
- Travel to schools across Melbourne (and occasionally beyond) or deliver sessions online
- Work as part of a collaborative, supportive team of educators
Employment Conditions
- Casual position
- Work is scheduled during Victorian school terms; availability on some evenings would be an advantage
- Most work is in Melbourne; occasional sessions may be online or outside the metropolitan area
- A three-month probationary period includes an introductory meeting, observation of SEA sessions, and a supported delivery with feedback and ongoing support
- Applicants must have Australian citizenship, residency or a valid visa to work in Australia
Qualifications and Experience
- Current Working with Children Check
- Current driver’s licence and access to a personal vehicle
Key Selection Criteria
- Available for a minimum of 3 days per week during school terms
- Passionate about working with children and young people in an engaging, authentic and respectful way
- Strong facilitation or teaching skills and an ability to connect with students of different ages
- Effective classroom management skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
- A commitment to ongoing professional growth and staying current in sexuality and relationships education
