Scope has an exciting and unique opportunity for a Community Activity Workshop Facilitator to work within the Communication and Inclusion Resource Centre (CIRC).
This is an Identified position, applicants must have lived experience of disability.
The Disability Awareness Team exists to teach the importance of seeing the person. Led by people with lived experience of disability, the team runs training and education programs in schools, corporate and community organisations. Our programs include real-world examples and fun activities to help participants build confidence and awareness about disability in everyday life. You will be joining this team to deliver sport and recreation workshops with another Scope trainer in Secondary Schools.
You will be responsible for preparing and delivering Community Activity Workshops with another trainer to groups of school students across metropolitan and regional Victoria. Community Activity Workshops will be delivered in-person and online.
The aim of Community Activity Workshops will be to develop the skills and knowledge on how to improve the inclusion and promotion of people with disability in sport and recreation activities. These workshops extend on what the school students learn about disability and inclusion in Scope’s Disability Awareness programs.
As a facilitator, you will work with the Disability Awareness team. You will provide feedback to the team to contribute to the ongoing development and quality of the Community Activity Workshop.
This position is best suited to a person living with disability, who is passionate about sport and hobbies, and who loves to tell stories about your experiences.
You are a person with a lived experience of disability.
