The Science Talent Search (STS) is an initiative of the Science Teachers’ Association of Victoria (STAV) and is one of Australia’s longest-running and most respected student science competitions. For 75 years, the program has encouraged curiosity, creativity and scientific thinking in young people across Victoria.
2026 marks the 75th anniversary of the Science Talent Search — making it an exciting and meaningful time to join the committee and help shape the future of this iconic program.
We are seeking enthusiastic and committed volunteers to join the Science Talent Search Committee and support the planning, promotion and delivery of the program. If you are passionate about science education and want to make a genuine contribution while growing your own skills and professional network, we’d love to hear from you.
As a member of the STS Committee, you will play an important role in delivering a program that has inspired generations of students to explore science. You will work alongside a collaborative team of educators, scientists and STEM advocates who are passionate about engaging young people in science learning.
